Initial sketches in developing a hybrid mythological creature. Started with Chinese mythological lion, then sea bishop from the pagan myth. Experiment - bird with bettle body with a pipe. And I think I finalise the end puppet to be a taotie head, which is a mythological chinese creature. One of the 9 sons of the dragon, swallows everything in sight, signifies greediness. And a sea monster tail, which is a lot in portuguese stories, and also with a griffin wing and similar bird legs or chicken legs. So he doesn't fly but hops. :) also checking on possibilities on the drawings how to man a puppeteer controlling the creature.
